Calculate Your Scenario

UAE Visa Overstay Fine Estimator Calculator

Enter the number of days that you believe are chargeable after the applicable permission or grace period. The calculator applies the AED 50 daily reference published by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). Your immigration authority’s record determines the actual amount payable.

The date fields are used to calculate elapsed calendar days. Enter the applicable grace period yourself after verifying it with the authority. The rate defaults to AED 50/day, the published ICP reference; any override is for scenario testing only.

Understand the Reference Rate

UAE Visa Overstay Fine Rules and Daily Charges

The UAE Visa Overstay Fine Estimator is based on a published standard daily fine reference. The key distinction is between the daily rate and the number of days an authority considers chargeable. Both need to be correct for an estimate to be meaningful.

ItemReferenceHow to Use It
Daily overstay fineAED 50 per dayPublished ICP service fee reference for expiry of permitted stay or visa/residence validity.
Chargeable daysDepends on the caseDetermine the relevant expiry/cancellation date and any applicable grace period with the authority.
Other chargesCase or service specificOnly add an amount when you have a reliable basis for it.
Final balanceAuthority-confirmed amountCheck the official immigration record before payment, exit or status adjustment.

ICP’s official fine payment service lists AED 50 per day for expiry of the permitted stay period or the expiry/cancellation of relevant entry and residence permissions. The UAE Government visa fees and fines guidance also directs visitors to the relevant authorities for fine checks.

📅

Count Chargeable Days Carefully

The expiry date is not always the same as the first fine date. Grace periods and case-specific provisions can affect when fines begin. Verify the start date rather than assuming every day after the printed expiry is chargeable.

🛂

Confirm the Correct Authority

Visa files are handled through the relevant federal or emirate-level channels. Dubai cases may use GDRFA Dubai, while many other cases use ICP. Follow the authority responsible for your actual file.

🧾

Separate Fines From Other Fees

Administrative, application, status-adjustment or departure-related charges may be separate from the daily overstay fine. Do not assume the daily calculation represents every amount needed to resolve a case.

How the Estimate Works

How to Use the UAE Visa Overstay Fine Estimator

Start with the visa or permit category shown on your official record. Select the relevant category in the calculator, then enter the date on which the visa expired or was cancelled. If the immigration authority has confirmed a different date for the start of overstay, use the verified information when interpreting your result.

Next, enter the date you want to assess. It can be today or a planned date, but a future estimate should not be treated as permission to remain in the country. The calculator counts elapsed calendar days between the dates, subtracts the grace days you enter, and multiplies any remaining chargeable days by the selected daily rate.

Finally, include other charges or payments only if you have confirmed amounts. The tool subtracts the amount already paid from the estimated fine plus the additional charges you entered. It will not automatically retrieve a government record, identify your grace period or confirm a payment.

Calculation Formula

Elapsed days = calendar days between the expiry/cancellation date and the check date.

Estimated chargeable days = maximum of zero and elapsed days minus the grace days entered.

Estimated fine = estimated chargeable days × daily fine rate.

Estimated remaining amount = maximum of zero and (estimated fine + other entered charges − amount already paid).

This formula is intentionally transparent. It does not decide which days the immigration authority legally treats as chargeable; that determination must be confirmed against the case record.

Worked Examples

Example UAE Overstay Fine Calculations

These examples show the arithmetic using AED 50 per chargeable day. They are illustrations only; the dates and grace periods must match the circumstances confirmed by the relevant immigration authority.

ScenarioChargeable Days UsedCalculationIllustrative Fine
Short overstay33 × AED 50AED 150
One week chargeable77 × AED 50AED 350
Two weeks chargeable1414 × AED 50AED 700
One month using 30 days3030 × AED 50AED 1,500
Forty-five chargeable days4545 × AED 50AED 2,250

Example: Seven Chargeable Days

If the authority confirms that seven days are chargeable and the relevant rate is AED 50 per day, the arithmetic is seven multiplied by fifty, giving AED 350 before any separate fees or credited payments.

If the file has a different start date or the applicable grace period has not ended, the official chargeable-day count may differ from the example.

Example: Fourteen Chargeable Days and a Payment

Fourteen chargeable days at AED 50 equal AED 700. If AED 200 has already been confirmed as credited against that fine, the remaining fine component would be AED 500, assuming there are no other adjustments.

Do not subtract an amount merely because a payment was attempted. Confirm that it has been recorded against the correct file.

A Practical Checklist

What to Do if Your UAE Visa Has Expired

A calculator can help you plan, but it does not extend a visa or regularise immigration status. Use the result as a prompt to verify the case and take the appropriate official next step.

Check Your Immigration Record

Confirm the exact visa category, expiry or cancellation date, current status and any recorded grace period. If a sponsor or typing centre handled the application, request the relevant official details.

Contact the Responsible Authority

Use ICP or the appropriate emirate immigration authority to verify the fine balance and permitted options. Dubai-issued records may require GDRFA Dubai channels. Follow instructions linked to your file.

Resolve the Case Before Acting

Ask whether extension, renewal, status adjustment or departure is available in your circumstances. Confirm payment instructions and deadlines directly rather than relying on a calculator or informal advice.

Check the Official Fine Record

Use the competent authority’s official service to confirm the actual fine, eligible procedures and payment requirements.

Important Limitations

Why Your Official Fine May Differ

The UAE Visa Overstay Fine Estimator uses a simple daily-rate formula to provide a planning figure. Government systems can consider details that a general-purpose calculator cannot see, including the exact permit record, the authority handling the file, the legally applicable grace period, status changes and any previous payments or adjustments.

Some residence categories may have specific grace periods. These should not be assumed to be identical across all residents, family members, workers, students or long-term residence holders. Rules and procedures can also change, so an older article or a third-party summary may not reflect the current decision for an individual file.

The calculator also does not automatically include every possible service fee, application cost, departure permit fee, status-adjustment cost or other amount. The additional-charge field is optional and should be used only for a figure you have verified. The rate field allows scenario testing, but changing it does not establish that a different legal rate applies.

For these reasons, do not use the displayed figure as a legal opinion, an official demand for payment, or a guarantee that you can depart or remain in the UAE. Verify the balance and the steps required to resolve the matter with the authority responsible for the file.

Frequently Asked Questions

UAE Visa Overstay Fine Estimator FAQs

These answers explain the calculator’s assumptions. Your immigration record and the competent authority’s current instructions take precedence over general guidance.

How much is the UAE overstay fine per day?

The ICP service page lists AED 50 per day for expiry of the permitted stay period or expiry/cancellation of relevant entry or residence permissions. Verify your actual fine and chargeable days with the authority responsible for your file.

Does the calculator automatically know my grace period?

No. Grace periods depend on the visa or residence category and the applicable rules. The calculator asks you to enter a number of grace days after you verify it. It cannot determine your legal status from the visa type alone.

Can I use this estimator for a tourist or visit visa?

You can use it to model a possible fine for a tourist or visit visa by entering the correct dates and verified grace period. The selected category is for your reference only and does not change the authority’s calculation.

Can I estimate a residence visa overstay?

Yes, the calculator can model a residence visa scenario using chargeable days and the daily rate. Residence grace periods can vary by category, so verify the applicable period before interpreting the estimate.

Does the estimator include all government fees?

No. It calculates a daily fine and allows you to add other confirmed charges manually. Application, extension, status-adjustment or departure-related charges are not automatically identified or included.

Why is my official fine different from the result?

The dates, grace period, rate, credited payments or other case-specific adjustments may differ from the assumptions you entered. The official immigration record is the authoritative source for the amount payable.

Can I use a future date to plan a possible fine?

Yes, you can enter a future check date to model the arithmetic. It is not permission to stay beyond your authorised period, and actual rules or status can change before that date. Confirm the case with the authority promptly.

What if I have already paid part of the fine?

Enter the amount only if it has been confirmed as credited to your case. The estimator subtracts that amount from its calculated total, but it cannot verify a transaction or retrieve an official balance.

Which authority should I contact?

Start with ICP or the relevant emirate immigration authority for the record. Dubai cases may be handled through GDRFA Dubai. If unsure, check the issuing authority or sponsor documents before making a payment or travel decision.

Is this an official UAE government calculator?

No. It is an independent planning tool that uses a published reference rate. It is not connected to government systems and does not provide an official fine assessment, legal advice or immigration approval.
