UAE Salary Deduction Calculator
Enter your monthly wage and select the adjustment you want to estimate. The calculator performs arithmetic only; it does not decide whether an employer is legally entitled to make a deduction or whether a particular statutory limit applies.
Enter the wage basis relevant to your intended calculation. For unpaid leave, the divisor is an assumption you choose, not a universal rule for every employment arrangement. Existing deductions are added to the selected adjustment for comparison.

Salary Deduction Calculation Formula
The calculator separates the wage entered, the selected adjustment and other existing deductions. Choose the formula that matches your intended estimate, then compare the output with your employment contract and actual payslip.
| Calculation | Formula | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed Deduction | Monthly wage − fixed deduction − other deductions | AED 6,000 − AED 500 = AED 5,500 |
| Percentage Deduction | Monthly wage × percentage ÷ 100 | 5% of AED 6,000 = AED 300 |
| Daily Wage Estimate | Monthly wage ÷ selected divisor | AED 6,000 ÷ 30 = AED 200 per day |
| Unpaid Leave Estimate | Daily wage × unpaid days | AED 200 × 2 days = AED 400 |
| Remaining Wage | Monthly wage − total entered deductions | AED 6,000 − AED 400 = AED 5,600 |
Fixed Salary Deductions
A fixed deduction is an amount entered directly in AED. This option can help you compare a proposed adjustment or a known payslip item with your normal monthly wage. The calculator subtracts the amount you enter, together with any additional deductions you specify.
A mathematical result does not establish that a fixed amount is permitted. Ask for the reason for each unfamiliar deduction and compare it with the applicable employment rules, contract terms and supporting records.
Percentage-Based Adjustments
A percentage calculation multiplies the monthly wage by the entered percentage and divides the result by 100. For example, 5% of AED 6,000 equals AED 300. If you enter AED 6,000, a 5% adjustment and no other deduction, the estimated remaining wage is AED 5,700.
This mode is useful for exploring a hypothetical rate. It does not imply that an employer can lawfully deduct any percentage simply because the arithmetic works.
Unpaid Leave And Absence
The unpaid-leave option divides the entered wage by a selected daily divisor, then multiplies the result by the number of unpaid days. Selecting 30 days produces a different estimate from dividing by 22 working days. The appropriate method depends on the circumstances and applicable rules.
For a wage of AED 6,000, a 30-day divisor gives AED 200 per day. Two days would produce a simple estimate of AED 400. Use this as a comparison figure, not as a universal payroll formula.
What Can Affect Salary Deductions In The UAE?
Salary adjustments can arise from different situations, including unpaid leave, a recorded absence, authorised repayments, statutory contributions or another item shown on a payslip. These situations do not necessarily share the same legal basis or calculation method.
The UAE Salary Deduction Calculator helps you quantify an entered amount. It does not verify the employer's evidence, confirm consent, inspect your employment contract or determine which legal provisions apply to your workplace.
For mainland private-sector employment, Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 and its amendments contain provisions concerning deductions from wages. Article 25 addresses permitted cases and applicable restrictions. Do not assume that one limit applies identically to every type of deduction.
Some workers and employment relationships may fall under different legislation or arrangements. Confirm your jurisdiction before relying on a general online explanation.
Before Accepting A Deduction
- Check the payslip description and amount.
- Compare the deduction with your employment contract.
- Request a written explanation for an unfamiliar adjustment.
- Keep relevant attendance, leave and payroll records.
- Confirm the legal basis and any applicable limit.
- Contact the competent authority if the explanation remains unclear.
For official information, start with the UAE Government's private-sector employment law guidance.

Add Other Deductions
If you want to compare several items, enter the other amount shown on your payslip. Do not enter the same item twice.
Calculate Your Remaining Pay
Review the estimated deduction, total entered adjustments, deduction percentage and remaining wage.
Verify Your Actual Payslip
Compare the result with the official payroll record and confirm the relevant rules before disputing or accepting an adjustment.

UAE Salary Deduction Calculator FAQs
These answers explain the calculator's scope and common salary deduction questions. Your contract and the law applicable to your employment remain important.
What Does The UAE Salary Deduction Calculator Do?
It estimates the arithmetic effect of a fixed amount, percentage or unpaid-leave adjustment on an entered monthly wage. It also includes other deductions entered by the user and displays the remaining amount.
Does The Calculator Confirm A Deduction Is Legal?
No. The calculator does not assess evidence, consent, legal eligibility or every statutory limit. Consult the relevant law and competent authority before concluding that a deduction is permitted.
How Is A Fixed Salary Deduction Calculated?
Subtract the fixed amount and any additional entered deductions from the monthly wage. For example, AED 500 subtracted from AED 6,000 leaves AED 5,500 before any other adjustments.
How Do I Calculate An Unpaid Leave Deduction?
For a simple estimate, divide the wage by the selected daily divisor and multiply the result by unpaid days. The appropriate divisor and legal treatment depend on the employment circumstances.
Should I Use Basic Salary Or Total Wage?
It depends on the particular calculation and applicable legal provision. Check the wording of your contract and the relevant rule rather than assuming every deduction uses the same wage basis.
Is Every Salary Deduction Limited To The Same Percentage?
No. Different legal grounds can have different conditions and limits. For mainland private-sector employment, review Article 25 of the applicable UAE labour legislation and confirm current requirements.
Can I Use This Calculator For Any UAE Employee?
The arithmetic can be used for planning, but legal treatment can differ by employment category and jurisdiction. Government employees, domestic workers and certain free-zone arrangements may be subject to different rules.
Why Is My Actual Take-Home Pay Different?
Your payslip may contain adjustments not entered into the calculator, a different wage basis, a different daily divisor or other payroll items. Compare each line with your official payroll record.
Does The Calculator Include Income Tax?
No tax calculation is included. This tool only subtracts the amounts you enter. It should not be treated as a complete tax, pension contribution or payroll compliance assessment.
Where Can I Ask About A Disputed Deduction?
For mainland private-sector employment questions, start with MOHRE's official resources at mohre.gov.ae. Confirm the authority responsible for your particular employment category.
