Choose your pass coverage, card class and passenger category, then enter how many paid journeys you normally make. This calculator compares a 30-day travel pass with an estimated pay-as-you-go cost using the selected fare assumptions.
A one-way journey is one fare-charged trip, not a return journey. For example, a commute to work and back usually means two one-way journeys per commuting day. Extra transport costs are shown separately and are not included in the RTA pass price.
30-day Silver pass · all zones
The following reference table lists standard Silver-class travel-pass prices published by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Passes cover eligible journeys within the selected zone coverage on included public transport services. They are not unlimited travel across every transport service in the UAE.
| Pass Duration | 1 Zone | 2 Zones | All Zones | Best Suited To |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 Days | AED 50 | AED 80 | AED 110 | Short stays or a trial |
| 30 Days | AED 140 | AED 230 | AED 350 | Regular monthly commuting |
| 90 Days | AED 330 | AED 550 | AED 830 | Longer-term travel planning |
| 365 Days | AED 1,060 | AED 1,770 | AED 2,670 | Eligible annual travel needs |
The published Silver pass price for 30 days is AED 140 for one zone, AED 230 for two zones and AED 350 for all zones. The right option depends on where you board, where you exit and which eligible transport services you use. A pass covering more zones may be unnecessary if your regular journeys stay within a smaller area.
These prices are for the pass itself. A new nol card, registration or other purchase-related fees may be separate, depending on your existing card and the product you choose. Check the RTA purchase screen to see the amount due before paying.
Gold-class travel products cost more than standard Silver products. Eligible students and certain other concession categories may have reduced fares or products when using the required personal nol card. Do not select a concession rate just because it appears in a comparison: eligibility and supporting documents must be confirmed with the RTA.
The estimate compares a selected travel-pass price against the cost of paying separately for the number of journeys you expect to make during the selected period. It is designed for planning, not for reading or validating a personal nol account.
The calculator estimates individual fares by multiplying the one-way fare you selected by the number of journeys entered. The journey count is the number of one-way trips per travel day multiplied by the number of days you expect to travel.
Estimated pay-as-you-go cost = one-way fare × journeys per day × travel days.
For example, a commuter taking two one-way journeys on 22 days makes 44 journeys. At AED 7.50 per journey, the illustrative pay-as-you-go total is AED 330. Compare that amount with the pass price for the same period.
The calculator subtracts the estimated individual-fare total from the selected pass price. A positive difference means the pass costs more under your inputs; a negative difference means the pass costs less. The break-even estimate is the number of same-priced individual journeys whose combined fares reach the pass price.
For a pass costing AED 350 and an individual fare of AED 7.50, break-even is approximately 47 journeys because 46 journeys cost AED 345 and 47 cost AED 352.50. This is a simplified comparison, not a prediction of your actual fare deductions.
Use the calculator as a starting point, then confirm your route and pass eligibility. These steps help prevent comparing products that do not cover the same travel needs.
Identify your usual start and end stations and determine the zone coverage required. Use the official RTA information if you are unsure whether a route falls within one zone, two zones or broader coverage.
Count the days you expect to commute, including your actual work pattern. A person travelling five days each week may need a different product from someone who works remotely or travels irregularly.
Use the appropriate individual fare and pass category. Check whether your journeys use Silver or Gold class and whether you qualify for a concession before relying on a price comparison.
A pass can be cost-effective when the fares you would otherwise pay exceed the pass price. But the cheapest choice is not always the pass with the lowest price per day; it is the option that matches your real journeys and eligibility.
People who travel on most working days may benefit from a pass if the covered journeys would otherwise add up to more than the pass cost. Enter your actual travel frequency to compare.
If your routine route stays within one zone, compare the one-zone pass before paying for broader coverage. Only choose wider coverage when it matches your normal eligible journeys.
People staying in Dubai for several months can compare 30-day, 90-day and annual options. Consider the full price, upfront payment and likelihood of using the pass throughout its validity.
Imagine you make 44 one-way journeys in a month and each journey would cost AED 7.50 under your selected fare assumption. Paying individually would total AED 330. A 30-day all-zone Silver pass at the reference price of AED 350 would cost AED 20 more for that set of journeys, before considering any separate transport costs.
If you made 48 journeys at the same fare, individual fares would total AED 360. In that simplified example, the AED 350 pass would be AED 10 cheaper. Your real result can differ because actual fares depend on the journey, zone tier, card and eligibility rules. Always compare your likely trips with the official product that covers them.
It may be tempting to choose an all-zone product for flexibility. If you only use a limited section of the network, however, a smaller-zone pass could be sufficient and less expensive. On the other hand, a pass that does not cover your usual route may fail to meet your needs. Verify the zones first, then compare prices.
Dubai's nol system supports payment across eligible public transport services. A travel pass is a product loaded onto a compatible nol card; it is different from simply adding stored-value credit to pay for individual trips.
The Silver card is the standard option used for regular public transport fares. The RTA's published pass table lists 30-day Silver products for one zone, two zones and all zones. Confirm registration requirements for your chosen duration.
Gold-class travel allows access to designated Gold Class cabins on the Metro and Tram and uses higher fares. If you prefer this class, compare the Gold pass cost with the appropriate Gold individual fare, not the standard Silver fare.
A personal nol card may be required for concession products and special fare categories. The applicable discount depends on the eligibility category and RTA requirements. Verify the current documents and conditions before choosing a reduced fare.
The RTA lists different travel-pass durations, including 7, 30, 90 and 365 days, depending on product and card type. Review the activation and renewal instructions, particularly if you are renewing a pass or using an existing card.
Your pass is only one part of getting around Dubai. A realistic budget can also account for trips to stations, taxis when needed, occasional bus or tram journeys outside your assumptions, parking, and other transport spending.
Start with the regular cost of your pass or individual Metro journeys. Add the cost of reaching the station if you use a taxi, feeder service or another paid mode. Keep those extra expenses separate so you can see which part of your budget is due to the pass and which part comes from other travel.
When you compare monthly costs, use a consistent period. A 30-day pass should be compared with journeys expected during those same 30 days, not a full calendar year of fares. If you use a 90-day or annual pass, consider the upfront cost and whether your travel plans will remain similar throughout its validity.
Leave, remote work, school holidays, temporary relocation and changes in work location can reduce the number of journeys you make. If your commute varies significantly from month to month, compare more than one scenario before committing to a longer pass.

The Dubai Metro Monthly Pass Calculator gives an estimate from your entries and the reference prices included in the page. It is not connected to the RTA fare engine, your travel history, your nol balance or a live purchase system.
Dubai public transport fares depend on the zones travelled and the applicable fare category. Transfers between eligible modes can be subject to time and journey rules. A flat one-way fare in this calculator is a planning assumption, so it cannot reproduce every possible route or transfer combination.
Travel passes are valid for specified services and conditions. Do not assume that every bus, intercity route, marine service or other transport option is included. Check the current RTA terms for the exact product you intend to use.
Fare tables and eligibility conditions may be updated. The values shown are reference figures based on the official RTA product schedule available when this page was prepared. Before paying, use the official RTA channel to verify the amount, product and requirements that apply to your account.
Review these answers before choosing a nol travel pass or comparing it with individual fares.
The published Silver 30-day pass prices are AED 140 for one zone, AED 230 for two zones and AED 350 for all zones. Gold and eligible concession products have different prices. Verify the current RTA schedule before buying.
It depends on how often you travel, your fare per journey, your route coverage and the pass you qualify for. Use the calculator to compare estimated individual fares with the selected pass price for the same period.
Among the standard Silver products listed here, the 30-day one-zone pass has the lowest monthly price at AED 140. It is only suitable when its coverage meets your travel needs; a low price is not useful if your regular journeys require wider coverage.
RTA travel passes cover eligible Metro, Tram and bus services, subject to the product rules and exclusions. Check the current RTA terms for any route or service that is not included.
The RTA notes that anonymous Silver and Gold cards are eligible for a 7-day travel pass only, while registered cards are eligible for 7-, 30-, 90- and 365-day products. Confirm your card's current status and eligibility with the RTA.
Yes. Gold-class products have higher fares and pass prices than standard Silver products. Compare the Gold pass with Gold-class individual fares if you intend to use the Gold Class cabin.
No. It estimates the travel-pass price and the individual fares you enter. Any new card, registration or other purchase-related charge should be checked separately through the official RTA purchase process.
Divide the pass price by the individual one-way fare and round up to the next whole journey. For example, AED 350 divided by AED 7.50 is 46.67, so 47 same-priced journeys are needed for individual fares to reach or exceed AED 350.
Yes. Select the relevant duration and zone coverage. The result compares the published price with the travel volume entered for the selected period. Your estimate is only meaningful if the journey count covers that same period.
No. Passes apply to eligible services and are subject to route and product restrictions. Check the RTA's current terms if you plan to use marine transport, intercity buses or any service outside your normal Metro, Tram and eligible bus commute.
The RTA publishes concession products for eligible categories, including students and certain senior citizens. Requirements and applicable discounts depend on the category and the personal nol card. Verify your eligibility before using a concession price.
No. This is an independent planning tool. It does not connect to RTA systems, sell passes, activate cards or guarantee the price of your journey. Use official RTA channels for purchase, eligibility and account-specific information.
Estimate your travel spending, compare zone coverage and check whether a nol pass fits your routine. Confirm the latest fare and eligibility information with the RTA before you purchase.
