Planning to send UAE dirhams to a UK bank account? Use this AED to GBP Remittance Calculator to estimate the pounds your recipient could receive after a transfer fee and an exchange-rate adjustment. Enter the rate offered by your provider to make the estimate relevant to your quote.
AED Input · GBP Estimate · Adjustable Fees · No Account Required
Enter the amount you plan to send, your provider's AED-per-GBP exchange rate, any exchange-rate markup and the transfer fee. The calculator estimates the amount converted and the GBP your recipient may receive. It does not fetch live rates or guarantee the final payout.
Enter the quoted rate as AED for one GBP. If the provider already gives you a final customer rate, leave the rate markup at 0% to avoid counting the margin twice. Check whether the fee is deducted or paid separately.
Estimated Pounds Sterling Received
The estimate separates the transfer fee from the currency conversion. That distinction matters because providers may deduct a fee from the money sent or charge it separately. The rate you enter should match the way your provider quotes the transaction.
When the transfer fee is deducted from the amount sent, the calculator subtracts that fee before converting the remaining dirhams. If the fee is paid separately, the full transfer amount is available for conversion and the fee is shown as an additional cash cost.
The provider rate is entered as AED per GBP. The calculator divides the amount converted in AED by this rate to estimate GBP. A lower AED-per-GBP rate generally produces more pounds for the same amount of dirhams, assuming the other charges are unchanged.
If you know the provider's reference rate and want to model an additional markup, enter the percentage in the markup field. The calculator increases the AED-per-GBP rate by that percentage, which reduces the pounds estimated for a fixed AED amount. Do not add a markup when the rate already includes it.
Fee deducted from send amount:
Amount converted = AED sent − transfer fee
Fee paid separately:
Amount converted = AED sent
Adjusted rate:
Adjusted rate = quoted rate × (1 + markup ÷ 100)
Estimated payout:
GBP received = amount converted ÷ adjusted rate
Approximate total cash cost:
Amount sent + any separately paid fee
These formulas are estimates. The provider's final displayed payout takes precedence over this calculator.
Suppose you plan to send AED 5,000, the quoted rate is 4.00 AED per GBP, and a fee of AED 25 is deducted from the transfer. For this example, the rate markup is zero.
| Step | Calculation | Example Result |
|---|---|---|
| Amount sent | Starting transfer amount | AED 5,000.00 |
| Fee deducted | AED 5,000 − AED 25 | AED 4,975.00 |
| Rate applied | AED per GBP | 4.00 |
| Estimated payout | AED 4,975 ÷ 4.00 | £1,243.75 |
| Fee percentage | AED 25 ÷ AED 5,000 × 100 | 0.50% |
Two services can advertise similar rates but produce different payouts because their fees and exchange-rate margins differ. Compare quotes using the same transfer amount and fee assumptions, and use the exact amount the recipient will receive wherever a provider displays it.
Check the actual customer rate offered for your transaction. A rate shown on a market-data website may not be the rate available to an individual remittance customer.
Identify upfront fees, receiving-bank charges and possible intermediary deductions. Ask whether a fee is included in the quoted amount or charged in addition.
Review estimated delivery time, payment method, verification requirements and transaction limits. A low-cost option may not meet an urgent delivery deadline.
The advertised exchange rate is only one part of a remittance. A service may offer a competitive rate but charge a fixed fee, while another may advertise no transfer fee but use a less favourable rate. The most useful comparison is the final GBP payout for the same AED amount, together with the total AED cost and delivery conditions.
Use the AED to GBP Remittance Calculator to model the figures from each provider's quote. Enter each rate and fee separately, then compare the estimated pounds received. Confirm whether the quote is guaranteed for a period or can change before the transfer is completed.
Type the number of UAE dirhams you intend to send. Use the amount that will actually be transferred, not a separate fee unless your provider treats it as part of the transfer.
Enter the AED-per-GBP rate and fee from the same quote. Set the fee method correctly and avoid adding a markup if it is already reflected in the quoted rate.
Review the estimated GBP, fee percentage and adjusted rate. Compare the result with the provider's final confirmation before making a payment.
Currency rates can change over time. A reference rate you saw earlier may not match the rate offered when you initiate a transfer. Providers can also price transactions differently according to payment method, amount, customer eligibility and delivery option.
Card payments, bank transfers and other payment routes may have different costs. A recipient bank or intermediary may apply charges depending on the payment route. If those amounts are unknown, the calculator cannot include them accurately.
Providers may apply minimums, maximums, identity checks and source-of-funds requirements. Check the applicable terms before planning a large transfer or relying on a specific delivery date.
This calculator displays an estimate rounded to two decimal places in GBP. A provider may calculate at greater precision or apply a different rounding method. Use the final confirmation screen and receipt as the authoritative record of your transaction.
These answers explain how to interpret the estimate and what to check before sending money from the UAE to the United Kingdom.
Enter the amount to convert in AED and divide it by the applicable AED-per-GBP rate. If a fee is deducted from the transfer, subtract it from the AED amount first. For an actual remittance, use the provider's quoted rate rather than assuming a reference rate is available to you.
No. The rate is entered manually, so the result is based on the value you provide. Update it using your remittance provider's current quote before comparing services or making a transfer decision.
Yes, if you enter a fee. You can choose whether it is deducted from the AED amount sent or paid separately. Unknown receiving-bank and intermediary charges are not included automatically.
It means how many UAE dirhams are required to obtain one British pound. For example, a rate of 4.00 AED per GBP means AED 4 converts to £1 before any relevant charges or adjustments.
Your provider may use a different customer rate, fee, payment method, markup, rounding rule or additional charge. Check that the calculator inputs match the same transaction quote, and rely on the provider's final confirmed payout.
Only if you want to model an additional markup on a reference rate. If you enter the final rate quoted to you by the provider, leave the markup at zero. Adding a second markup to an already adjusted rate would overstate the rate cost.
You can model larger amounts within the calculator's input limits, but the result is still an estimate. Check provider limits, identity requirements, the validity period of the quote and any additional fees before authorising a large transfer.
No. The calculation is not a financial offer or a guarantee of payout. Rates can change and providers may apply conditions or charges that are not represented by the inputs. Confirm the final amount directly with the service you choose.
